BIOGRAPHY

Born in 1977 in South Australia, Bianca has been creating all her life. Her first recollection of making art, was around age 3, cutting up ink tubes from texta chambers and dying small bits of cloth in her 'itty bitty bins', and greatly amusing herself with a much-loved etcher-sketcher.

As a self-taught artist, she finds inspiration in all facets of life., including nature, music, fashion, photography, people, psychology, metaphysics, dance, poetry, and animals.

​

Many of the artworks are created by the psychological phenomenon called pareidolia. Greek words, para, which means “wrong,” and eidolon, which means “image,” are combined to create a form of apophenia. 

 

Apophenia means seeing patterns in random data, like looking at the clouds and seeing faces or animals. A common occurrence many of us experience. 

 

Magical and beautiful in its simplicity, the creation of the coined 'Freestyle artworks', birthed by chance after a life-altering event, took over her days, proCUREing a much-needed self-healing force.

As a lover of colour, (rainbows being her favorite thing as a little one) and 'non-colours', the use of white and black outlines in oil paint or posca are readily used to bring great depth and contrast to each piece.
